Leverone (blue and orange) leads Farbman (green and black) to the start of Sunday's race. Both drivers notched top-ten qualifying runs in a field of nearly 50 locals!

While snow, slush and cold marched through the northeast, we headed south for a weekend of Miata-thrashing at Sebring International Raceway. This February escape is becoming a Flatout tradition - for good reason.

Friday was a welcome testing opportunity for our clients, most of whom had never turned a wheel on the legendary track. The test paid off for Arrive & Drive hotshoe Jon Farbman, who qualified eighth in a 47-car field! Flatout president and team driver Nick Leverone started right in front of Jon after qualifying sixth. Unfortunately, Jon's weekend was marred by a fender-bender Saturday and a few small but costly mistakes Sunday. Driving number 89, a Flatout rental Miata, Nick grabbed a couple of top-tens.

Arrive & Drivers Keith Hammitte and Ann Lamport-Hammitte split time in their red number 85, turning in strong laps and building valuable track time.

We were happy to see several renters (two of them repeat customers) who know how to wheel a Miata: Russell Gee drove number 00 to strong finishes, while Sam Gardella and Nick Liddell split time in number 91.

A big tip of the cap to Mike Knapp and Evan Consolazio, who did stellar crew duty.

If this Escape from Winter racing appeals to you, maybe we can interest you in a March trip to Virginia International Raceway! Contact us for information.
